Jeremy Bio

Dad of Twins, Teacher, Guitarist

Jeremy Coleman completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in classical guitar studies later, receiving his music therapy certification at Sam Houston State University.

He went on to receive his Master’s degree in Music and Human Learning from The University of Texas at Austin at the Butler School of Music. He received a second Masters Degree in Education from Texas Tech University.

Jeremy began teaching in 2007 at the Art of Music studio in the Woodlands, Texas. In 2009, Jeremy began working as a music therapist in Napa, California, with veterans at an assistive living facility.

After returning to Austin, Texas, in 2010, Jeremy started a private music therapy practice that allowed him to work in several different healthcare, education, and home settings.

In 2011, Jeremy began collaborating with Austin Classical Guitar, utilizing their classroom guitar curriculum, guitarcurriculum.com, to teach students that are visually impaired.

The collaborative efforts between Jeremy and Austin Classical Guitar continued for more than a decade accumulating into what is now considered the ultimate resources for guitarists with visual impairment; letsplayguitar.org

Currently, Jeremy is a full-time guitar teacher in the Texas public school system.

His students have performed at the Texas State Capital and been featured in Austin Monthly Magazine, NPR and, local news. He is a published researcher in peer-reviewed journals.

He performs regularly and is the founder of Learn Guitar Austin.
